Under our definition -Cultural Technology, that is, “CT” is “Culture & Communication Media Technology", KCTI is a research institute that conducts R&D to make the richer communication of cultural elements through the use of advanced media communication technology. Developing the means and devices of future communication for which heterogeneous fields are met and studied, we would like to contribute to the national interest, leading the world cultural industry market as well as maturing the domestic cultural industry.
Here, what we mean by 'the means of future communication' are the state-of-art media that enable a user to experience and explore by developing a learner-oriented storytelling system and applying interactive function. They include a broad range of development scope, for instance, from the storytelling of what has been left alive as cultural property and the methods of applying it to a new technology to the development of learning system that connects a device like smartphone, interactive media wall, 3D mapping technique, and display method. In addition, they also mean active media accompanying fun so include sculptures, installations, and image (video) contents for VR, MR, and AR.
We will be a research institute devoting its R&D effort to developing communication methods for a better future by connecting all sectors and fields to it and never saying "No" in the process of development.
